Job summary

County of Maui is seeking an experienced civil engineer to oversee programmatic management and interagency coordination for infrastructure recovery and resilience projects funded through HUD’s CDBG-DR program.

The role includes supervising complex engineering programs, directing engineering plans and specifications, and ensuring compliance with federal and local requirements while coordinating with HUD, FEMA and other partners.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's in civil engineering and two years of civil engineering work as a registered professional engineer with supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs engineering programs and projects.
• Supervises preparation and/or review of plans, designs, specifications, and reports.
• Oversees engineering projects such as roads, sewer systems, bridges and related infrastructure.
• Coordinates activities with internal departments and external agencies (HUD, FEMA, state agencies, utilities).
• Prepares contracts, technical and administrative reports and correspondence.
