Job summary

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and flow manufacturing techniques.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project and Outlook.

A Brief Overview

The Program Manager supports the Cancer Network and Cancer Care Services by planning, monitoring and managing program(s)/project(s) from inception through maintenance and completion, by leading design, planning, tracking, reporting, and maintaining program(s)/project(s) endeavors that support the strategic goals of the department. Utilization of data analytics, lean six sigma project management tools, financial analytics tools, and software program adaption for operational and financial assessment and management.

What You Will Do
  • Guide programmatic development for large strategic and cross-functional improvement programs for Cancer Network and Cancer Care Services.
  • Partners with cancer care service medical directors to form strategic plans, program development in the cancer network.
  • Manages, assesses, and documents project scope and program utilizing standard A3 template
  • Defines project scope, goals and deliverables that support Cancer Network strategic business goals in collaboration with the Director and other key stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recognize and use synergies from other projects to design creative solutions for technological and non-technological problems as well as identify future projects. Utilizing Lean six sigma tools and other project management programs and methods.
  • Manage program design and structure for Cancer Network’s key initiatives and projects within assigned leadership division, develop strategic input for the Director regarding business objectives of clients for both current and future projects.
  • Foster collaboration and coordination between school of medicine, Stanford Health Care , University Healthcare Alliance, and Valley Care cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams to drive key strategic initiatives forward
  • Partner with Operations Manager(s) to identify and develop the leadership needs and internal capacity of the department, and facilitate strategic changes in project scope or assignment across the team.
  • Design effective hand-offs and exemplary care coordination between clinical services and cancer care services(psycho oncology, palliative care, genetic counseling, genomics, nutrition, social work, and integrative medicine)
  • Coach and mentor staff through change process and cycles of continuous improvement
  • Works with various departments and physician groups within the cancer network, develops relationships with key stakeholders, and understands their departmental workflows
  • Prepares and maintains accurate, coherent, timely and auditable project records and cost estimates, as applicable, within department guidelines
  • Creates software programs or dashboards to monitor operational and financial metrics for cancer care service programs, and six cancer centers and clinics in the bay area.
  • Provides leadership, coordination and support to all team members
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Policy Administration, or another directly-related field/discipline from an accredited college required.
Experience Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible and related work experience in health care performance improvement, program development, data analytics, healthcare financial analysis and management, project management
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to act as both a thought leader and operational expert around process and service transformation and integration
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels and in situations requiring instructing, persuading, negotiating, conflict resolution, consulting and advising, as well as flawless written and verbal communication
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with widely diverse groups and gain their cooperation
  • Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and work effectively in a team or independent setting
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize to meet deadlines, balancing SHC strategic goals with department objectives and service standards
  • Ability to provide leadership, mentorship and influence others
  • Knowledge of Lean, JIT, Six Sigma and Flow Manufacturing techniques
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project and Outlook

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $66.52 - $88.14 per hour
