Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead large, complex aviation and airport infrastructure programs. You will guide multi-disciplinary teams through all project phases, implementing processes, strategy, and reporting tools to drive success.

You will report to senior stakeholders, manage budgets, and ensure program performance while upholding safety and client satisfaction as core values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, construction management, business or related degree from an accredited program and 10 years related consulting experience.
  • Experience leading multi-discipline teams on major projects or programs >$250M preferred.
  • Expert experience in managing projects including proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, controls, and budgeting.

  • Lead development and execution of overall Program strategic initiatives to achieve goals.
  • Provide leadership to the Program team and ensure efficient utilization of staff.
  • Be client facing with senior client leadership on reporting and relationship building.

Description

Our Global Program Management Organization is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the successful delivery of large, complex aviation and airport infrastructure programs. This leadership role is ideal for a proven professional with extensive experience managing major airport capital improvement programs, terminal developments, airfield projects, landside infrastructure, and other aviation-related initiatives. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to airport owners, airlines, and executive stakeholders while leading multidisciplinary teams through every phase of project and program delivery.

As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading a diverse team in the successful delivery of complex programs & projects, from inception through final close-out, including the development and implementation of processes, procedures, strategy, execution plans, resource planning, risk management, and reporting tools. You will lead the program management team in a dynamic and profitable manner based on Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety and overall outstanding service.

What you will do:
  • Lead the development and execution of overall Program strategic business initiatives to achieve goals and objectives.

  • Provide leadership to the Program team; direct and coordinate the work of a multi-disciplined team and ensure the efficient and cost-effective utilization of staff.

  • Be client facing and working with senior client leadership on reporting, issues resolution, and relationship building.

  • Responsible for driving systems integration and the implementation of data collection, data management, data analytics and reporting tools to drive efficiency in reporting to enable strategic decisions regarding program budgets and schedule risks.

  • Responsible for management of Program budget and expenditure of funds.

  • Achieve stated targets and standards for the Program financial performance.

  • Present monthly financial information to leadership including project revenue forecasts.

  • Support strategies for cross-selling engineering services across the organization.

  • Responsible for the recruitment, development, training, and retention of staff.

  • Responsible for conducting performance evaluations for department staff.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the department.

  • Responsible for interpreting the organization's policies, purposes, and goals to staff.

  • Responsible for overall QA/QC process adherence.

  • Enforce compliance with company and site safety policies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, construction management, business or related degree from an accredited program and 10 years related consulting experience, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.

  • Experience leading a multi-discipline team that has executed and managed major projects or programs greater than $250 million preferred.

  • Strong experience in client and business development.

  • Expert experience in managing projects, which includes proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, project controls, system integration, owner’s engineering, real estate acquisition, permitting, environmental compliance, construction management, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.

  • Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrated success as to budget, savings and/or profit margins in completed projects.

  • Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage.

  • Excellent planning and analytical skills.

  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.

  • Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools including the use of Microsoft Project or equivalent.

  • Extensive travel and or temporary or permanent relocation to the project location will be required.
