Job summary

Datadog in San Francisco is hiring a Program Manager on our Community team to support AI and Developer event content and advocacy efforts. You'll plan and execute events, collaborating with multiple teams to deliver high-quality experiences for customers.

The role emphasizes hybrid work, travel up to 20%, and building scalable processes. You will own onsite speaker experience, coordinate rehearsals, and drive improvements across our event program.

  • Grow presence at AI events and identify meetups, hands-on learning, and sponsored events.
  • Plan technical programming for AI or developer events the company hosts or sponsors.
  • Support AI and developer content at global events such as DASH.
  • Track deadlines and deliverables for assets; work with vendors and procurement as needed.
  • Identify and resolve risks and blockers for the event program.
  • Maintain internal tools and public website for event agenda and speaker content.
  • Own onsite speaker experience for internal and customer speakers.
  • Manage onsite programming, rehearsals, staffing, and operations.
  • Collaborate with Community teams, external stakeholders, and the VP of Community.
  • Create and refine processes; focus on automation and scaling.
  • Communicate goals, status, risks, and impact across teams.

Job description

At the company we’re growing our investment in AI and Developer focused events. As we scale this program we’re looking to hire a Program Manager on our Community team to support our content and advocacy team efforts across these events.

The company Technical Advocacy team are focused on our local user communities, and bringing our technical content directly to our customers globally. You’ll be responsible for planning and execution to deliver AI and Developer events, working across multiple teams at the company to ensure our event is high quality and a positive experience for our customers.

What You’ll Do:
  • Growing the company’s presence at AI events and identifying opportunities for meetups, hands‑on learning, and sponsored events, with a focus on AI or Developer events
  • Planning technical programming for AI or developer events that the company hosts or sponsors
  • Supporting AI and developer focused content at larger global events such as DASH, the company’s annual conference
  • Tracking deadlines and deliverables for our content and events, including digital and physical assets, and working with vendors and procurement teams as needed to ensure event success
  • Identifying and resolving risks and blockers for our event programing
  • Maintaining our internal tools and public website for event agenda and speaker content
  • Owning our onsite speaker experience for both internal and customer speakers
  • Managing event programming onsite, coordinating rehearsals, staffing, and ensuring smooth onsite operations
  • Collaborate closely with our Community teams, external stakeholders, and the VP of Community
  • Create and refine processes; maintain focus on continual improvements, automation and scaling
  • Communicate goals, status, risks, and impact to teams and stakeholders ensuring alignment and visibility of information across teams.
Who You Are:
  • You have approximately 2-5 years of experience in program management, leading similar initiatives such as large scale conferences and related programs within a similar technical environment (B2B SaaS company), partnering closely with technical stakeholders
  • You have experience working collaboratively across cross-functional teams; strong leadership and interpersonal skills, experience building and fostering effective working relationships
  • You have strong communication skills, attention to detail and enjoy building processes
  • You take a data-driven approach to program management; building tools (workflows, custom work intake processes, estimation models), collecting and analyzing data, and driving stakeholder buy-in
  • You have experience influencing without direct authority at senior levels internal and external to the organization
  • Able to travel via train or air, domestically and internationally, up to 20% of the time
