Job summary

Alpha Omega in Washington, DC is seeking a Program Manager to own delivery across multiple projects on an enterprise IT program. You will lead contractor teams, manage risk, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely, within-budget execution across agile streams.

Requirements include 12+ years in enterprise IT, 5+ in federal government, a BS in CS/IT/Engineering, ITIL v3 or higher, and strong communications.

  • 5+ years in federal government projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, exceptional leadership and organization.

Job description

Job Title: Program Manager
Clearance Required: US Citizen, Active Secret
Work Location: Washington, D.C, Hybrid (3 days onsite required)

Alpha Omega is looking for a focused, driven Program Manager (PM) will have overall delivery responsibility for the tasks and activities to include Contractor team performance and issue resolution. The PM will factor in all inputs to derive a recommended approach based on factors including prioritization and subject matter expertise, technical and business information, risk management, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience in an Agile environment
  • Experience with software requirements tools and tracking
  • Experience working and leading an Agile Program with multiplework streams/components.
  • Experience defining solutions that cross business and technical boundaries.
  • Experience monitoring program execution to identify obstacles and deviations from plan and takes corrective action as needed
  • Experience conducting continuous risk assessment and management including developing measures to reduce risk in program execution
  • Experience with contract management, budgeting, and resource allocation, including management of subcontractor personnel
  • Experience with all aspects of configuration management planning including configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, configuration audits, configuration documentation
  • Prefer experience and understanding of U.S. Department of State (DOS) IT environments, processes, and agile development methodologies as well as working within the DOS Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC)
  • Manage a team of resources across the various projects on the program.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and customers who are involved with projects on the program
Required Qualifications:
RequiredExperience/Skills:
  • Minimum Years of Overall Experience: Twelve (12) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment leading major systems support and integration efforts across a mixed platform
  • Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field: 5 or more years of relevant experience working in Federal Government
  • Strong and effective verbal and communications skills
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills
Required Education:
  • Shall have, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or Engineering, or other comparable degree or experience
Required Certification(s) (at least 1 required):
  • ITIL v3 or higher
Preferred Certification(s):
  • Scrum Alliance CSM or CSP certification or PMI’s Agile Certified Professional (ACP)
  • Agile or Professional Coaching certification
Salary and Benefit Information:

The likely salary range for this position is $133,000 - $175,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
