Typical Day in the Role
• Purpose of the Team: This team is part of Developer Relations. They are an outwardly facing technical team connected to engineering through the product groups. Their primary responsibility is to influence customers in the adoption of services. They are not a sales function but more of an engineering function.
• Key projects: This role will contribute to AI Tour. This project involves creating and managing content for a series of 16 stops run by the organization and an additional 50 regionally based stops. The team is responsible for content creation, coordination of speakers, and budgeting for these events.

1. Minimum 1+ years experience with content management skills (Ability to create, manage, and ensure timely delivery of content).
2. Minimum 1+years experience with budget management (Proficiency in managing budgets, including allocation for speakers and events.).
3. Minimum 1+years experience with technical understanding (General comprehension of technical content, particularly generative AI.).
Job Responsibilities:
Technical Content Creation Management and Delivery Planning
• Coordinate with the Technical Content Lead on the creation of breakout sessions and workshops, ensuring alignment with the program playbook and strategic goals.
• Manage all tactical and logistical production details; act as the primary contact with suppliers for updates, needs, and approvals to be addressed by the Technical Content Lead.
• Plug into regular content calls to track content iterations, manage logistics deadlines, and drive alignment across teams.
• Support the Technical Content Lead in overall budget management and decision-making.
Budget Planning & Allocation
• Develop and deliver a comprehensive budget plan for Microsoft first party events (AI Tour. Ignite, Build), including per-event breakdowns (travel, accommodations, meals).
• Ensure recommendations align with Microsofts fiscal policies and cost controls.
• Deliver a finalized budget workbook with optimization recommendations.
• Conduct a one-time audit of speaker and event logistics workflows and provide post-event process improvement recommendations.
• Design and manage the speaker strategy and execution plan, including:
• A speaker selection matrix per stop based on location, content fit, and cost-effectiveness.
• Finalized rosters and travel planning documentation 45 days prior to each event.
• A reusable speaker management toolkit with templates for communication, travel tracking, and logistics workflows.
• Act as the single point of contact for all speaker communications; maintain bi-weekly touchpoint summaries.
• Own speaker logistics and staff coordination across all tour stops.
Post-Event Reporting & Analytics
• Maintain and update a central KPI dashboard that consolidates event data from all first party events.
• After each event, deliver a standardized recap report covering:
• Ensure dashboard and reports are submitted within 10 business days after each stop.
• At tour conclusion, deliver a final report with strategic insights and recommendations for future program improvements.
Qualifications:
• 1+ years of experience in project management (technical, events, or learning-focused environments).
• PMP or PMI certification is a plus
• Proven ability to manage budgets, vendors, and multi-location event logistics.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal abilities.
• Able to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to organize information and maintain confidentiality.
• Experience in vendor management, budget planning, and process improvement.
• Familiarity with technical content development, speaker sourcing, and logistics workflows.
