Amentum is seeking a Program Manager for the SERE Training Program in Southern Pines, NC. You will oversee workforce management, financial performance, logistics, procurement, curriculum development, and instructional oversight to ensure adherence to the PWS and contractual documents.

The role requires strong leadership, experience managing multi‑functional teams, subcontractor coordination, and effective financial and project execution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of program management experience or equivalent leadership/operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and budget responsibility experience.
• Familiarity with FAR, MS 365 Apps, and contracts management teams.

Program Manager – Specialized Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) Training Program

Location: Southern Pines, NC. Amentum is seeking a Program Manager for our SERE Training Program, responsible for all aspects of the program including workforce management, financial performance, customer support, logistics, procurement, business development, facility management, training coordination, instructional oversight, curriculum development, subcontractor management, quality assurance, and adherence to the Performance Work Statement and other contractual documents.

Responsibilities

• Synchronize customer and contractor activities to ensure mission success in accordance with the PWS and company policies.


• Manage the employee workforce: career goal planning, performance, schedules, hiring, compensation architecture, communications, and maintaining a productive work environment.


• Review and approve timecards and expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.


• Coordinate, direct, and manage subcontractors and independent contractors supporting the program.


• Develop work statements, procurement documents, oversee funds and labor hours, review and submit invoices through company systems.


• Manage financial performance and execution for the contract, develop a spend plan, estimate‑At‑Completion, use earned‑value management, and prepare financial deliverables.


• Prepare and submit contract deliverables in accordance with the PWS, Services Summary, and Contract Data Requirements List.


• Maintain and operate the local, leased office, ensuring OSHA and Amentum Environmental, Health and Safety compliance.


• Manage logistics support following project plans, spend plans and procurement policies.


• Participate in weekly, bi‑weekly, and monthly customer and leadership meetings.


• Participate in company business development activities, proposal development, pricing support, quality assurance plans, and strategic growth plans.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of documented experience overseeing multi‑functional project teams and managing program‑level activities within scope, funding, and schedule constraints.


• 5+ years of demonstrated program management experience or equivalent combination of leadership, project management, and operational experience.


• Strong management and leadership skills; experience with increasing personnel and budget responsibility; exceptional written and oral communication.


• Knowledge of project management, budgeting, scheduling, quality metrics, customer and stakeholder satisfaction, teamwork, and coordination of independent contractors and subcontractors.


• Experience delivering products under high operational tempo; ability to adjust priorities and respond to changing requirements on time and within budget.


• Ability to interface with senior members of external organizations, justify program recommendations and communicate effectively.


• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to multi‑task, organize, and prioritize multiple projects.


• Secret U.S. Government Clearance required; must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. U.S. Citizenship required for the clearance.


• Familiarity with FAR, MS 365 Apps for business (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel), and ability to work directly with the Amentum Contracts Management team.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.


• Minimum of five years of SERE Instructor experience, including a Lead Instructor role overseeing training delivery, instructor development and course execution.


• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Compensation

Estimated annual salary range: $130,000‑$145,000. Actual compensation may vary based on responsibilities, experience, education, and market data.
