East Bay Community Foundation is seeking a Program Manager, Arts and Culture with a Racial Equity Lens and Movement-Building in the Bay Area. Hybrid work requires 1-2 days in office; travel to Oakland, CA is expected.

Salary starts at $90,000–$95,000 per year, based on experience. The role partners with the Senior Program Director and leads cross-functional initiatives within Community Investments and Partnerships.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in philanthropy, nonprofit management, organizing, community development, capacity building, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience working with community-based organizations.
• Experience managing complex programs, partnerships, or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.

Program Manager, Arts and Culture with a Racial Equity Lens and Movement-Building

Department: Community Investments and Partnerships
Reports to: Senior Program Director, Community Investment and Partnerships
Hours and Location: Hybrid work environment, 1-2 days per week in the office or site visits. Must live in the Bay Area and be able to easily travel to Oakland, CA.
Starting Salary: $90,000- $95,000k annual, depending on experience

Position Summary

The Program Manager, Arts and Culture with a Racial Equity Lens and Movement-Building, role is a strategic, relationship-centered leader responsible for advancing two interconnected program areas within EBCF’s Community Investment and Partnerships portfolio.

This role supports the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of initiatives that strengthen the organizational capacity, leadership, and sustainability of nonprofit and investing in the ecosystems, networks, and infrastructure that support power building, and movement building across the East Bay.

• Partner with the Senior Program Director and Program Leads to manage program operations and initiatives focused on Cultural Arts and The Clorox Company Foundation.
• Translate program priorities into actionable workplans, timelines, deliverables, and outcomes.
• Manage day-to-day implementation of initiatives and program activities.
• Oversee budgets, contracts, consultant scopes of work, timelines, and reporting requirements.
• Ensure accountability for deliverables and effective execution of program components.
• Maintain systems that support coordination, communication, and program effectiveness.
• Foster opportunities for shared learning, collaboration, and relationship building among nonprofit leaders.
• Ensure capacity-building approaches are culturally responsive, equity-centered, and grounded in the lived experiences of BIPOC-led organizations.
• Help coordinate convenings, learning spaces, and network-building opportunities across organizing ecosystems.
• Lead reporting, data management, and pipeline tracking within the CRM, ensuring accurate and timely updates to constituent records, donor opportunities, grant activities, and related systems and processes.
• Support the development of Program Grant Committee (PGC) materials, including grantee summaries, funding recommendations, due diligence documentation, meeting briefings, and post-award reporting to facilitate informed grantmaking decisions.

Partnership Development and Community Engagement

• Cultivate authentic, trust-based relationships with nonprofit leaders, consultants, and community stakeholders.
• Serve as a connector across organizations, coalitions, and networks advancing racial justice in the East Bay.
• EBCF in community convenings, funder tables, coalitions, and movement spaces.
• Strengthen relational infrastructure across the ecosystem to support collaboration and collective impact.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration and CIP Team Support
• Collaborate with colleagues across Community Investment and Partnerships, Donor Engagement, Communications, Learning and Evaluation, and Operations.
• Partner with the Program Lead and Marketing & Communications team to develop compelling grantee spotlight stories, giving guides, impact narratives, and other donor-facing content that highlights program outcomes and community impact.
• Support fundraising, donor engagement, and proposal development related to programmatic priorities.
• Contribute to organizational strategy, planning processes, and cross-departmental initiatives.
• Participate in internal learning and racial equity practice-building efforts.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in philanthropy, nonprofit management, organizing, community development, capacity building, or related fields, required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with community-based organizations
• Experience managing complex programs, partnerships, or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and communication skills.

Compensation

Salary range: $ 90,000- $ 95,000 annually, depending on experience. Comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, retirement plan, and generous paid time off.
