Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Program Manager for its Asia Operations team to manage large, complex programs delivering I&C and ES to commercial nuclear plants in Asia. You will oversee the Taiwan Maanshan LTO program and others, reporting to the Sr.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in PM, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline.
  • Two decades of project management experience leading high-complexity initiatives.
  • Extensive PM experience in technical industries such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear or construction.
  • Experience managing I&C or ES projects and working with Asia-based customers.

Responsibilities

  • Define and initiate projects and assign project managers to manage cost, schedule and performance of programs.
  • Develop program plans with scope, schedule and cost baselines and ensure alignment with strategy.
  • Analyze needs and develop customer satisfaction and project performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with Business Units to build winning strategy, capture plans and synergies to grow volume.
  • Ensure programs meet quality, schedule and financial goals per requirements and contracts.
  • Close sub-projects and formally close programs when completed.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and communicate risks and mitigation strategies.

About the role:

As a Program Manager on our Asia Operations team, you will manage large, highly complex programs that develop, manufacture, test and deliver Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) and Engineering Solutions (ES) to Commercial Nuclear Power Plants in Asia. You will oversee execution of Taiwan Power Corporation (TPC) Maanshan Long Term Operation program (LTO) and other projects assigned, and will be responsible to meet established the overall schedule and financial objectives for the project.

You will report to the Sr. Director of Asia Operations and Strategy Deployment and be located at our Cranberry Township, PA facility. This is a mobile role that is expected on site 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and initiate projects and assign and/or obtain project managers to manage cost, schedule and performance of the TPC Maanshan LTO program, and other projects assigned, while working to ensure the ultimate success and acceptance of the program.
  • Oversee, author, and/or direct the authoring of program/project plans including developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
  • Analyze needs and develop unique customer satisfaction and project performance metrics.
  • Teamwork with other Business Units to develop integrated winning strategy, capture plans and synergies to build up pipeline and grow business volume.
  • Manage overall TPC Maanshan LTO program, and other projects assigned, performance to meet quality, schedule and financial goals as set forth by Westinghouse, customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure program sub-projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
  • Oversee all work activities and motivate to increase performance. Manage program resource assignments (labor, equipment, supplier, etc.) to ensure program goals are achievable.
  • Maintain continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives and make recommendations to modify the program and/or implement changes to enhance effectiveness toward the business result or strategic intent.
  • Provide leadership to train, motivate and direct technical and administrative personnel to resolve issues during project implementation
  • Oversee closure of TPC Maanshan program, and other projects assigned.
  • Formally close program when all projects are completed.
  • Perform final program quality assessment and report out.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
  • Effectively communicate program interdependencies and requirements, identify and mitigate risks, and resolve conflicts and issues.
  • Identify, assess, and implement improvement opportunities which will add value to the team and business.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline.
  • 20 years of experience as project manager leading and directing high complexity projects to successful completion.
  • 15 years of experience as project manager in technical industry such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear or construction.
  • Background of managing I&C or ES projects and/or projects involving Asia customers
  • Broad technical knowledge of nuclear power plants - specifically I&C and ES. Knowledge of general Asia business practices and contracting.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $130,400 to $163,000 per year.
