Job summary

Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge is seeking a senior operations supervisor to oversee the Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Recovery Care Specialist program and staff, interns, and volunteers at our Rockbridge Treatment facility.

The role emphasizes leadership, compliance with Minnesota statutes, staff development, payroll, scheduling, and collaboration with the Clinical Director to improve program operations and client services.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years relevant experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Licensed in Minnesota as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC).
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Obtain 12 hours of training in co-occurring mental health problems within six months of hire.
  • At least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances.
  • Ability to work with individuals facing life-controlling challenges including mental health and addiction.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and time management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients, staff, and leadership.
  • Commitment to MnTC culture of honor, compassion, respect, integrity, servanthood, and trust.
  • Ability to pass MN DHS background study and meet Minnesota Statutes 245G.11 requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the Alcohol & Drug Counselor and Recovery Care Specialist program and involved staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Ensure essential treatments, assessments, documentation, and state reporting comply with Minnesota statutes.
  • Handle hiring, termination, onboarding, and staff supervision.
  • Monitor staff performance and implement corrective action or training as needed.
  • Address medication errors with staff and manage staffing schedules and payroll approvals.
  • Attend shift changes and review facility logs to ensure policy compliance.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Director to address issues and improve program operations and communication.
  • Coordinate client events with Program Administrator and perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Job Summary

Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Alcohol & Drug Counselors and Recovery Care Specialist program and the personnel involved with it, including all assigned staff, interns, and volunteers.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential functions include the following:

  • Ensure treatment services provided to individual clients be provided in the individual treatment plan individual and group counseling, client education strategies, transition services, services to address issues related to co-occurring mental illness in compliance with Minnesota Statutes.
  • Ensure all assessments, documentation, reviews, and State reporting are completed and in compliance with Minnesota Statutes.
  • Hiring and termination of staff, including interviewing and onboarding.
  • Ensures program staff are supervising clients according to established policies and procedures.
  • Ensures staff receive required training.
  • Monitors staff performance and institutes corrective action or training in order to bring performance to an acceptable level.
  • Addresses medication errors with staff.
  • Generate and maintain staffing schedule.
  • Approves payroll and leave requests.
  • Conducts annual employee reviews.
  • Maintains a calendar of approved PTO and LOA.
  • Ensures that all shifts have adequate staff coverage.
  • Attends shift change with staff.
  • Reviews facility log on a routine basis to ensure policies and procedures are being followed by staff.

Program Operations

  • Monitors and tracks time studies.
  • Assists staff with shift assignments and shift change.
  • Collaborates with the Clinical Director as issues arise and to discuss ideas for improving program operations and communication.
  • Coordinates events for clients with support from Program Administrator.
  • Other duties as assigned by director or other senior management.

Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):

  • 3+ years relevant experience, 2+ years being in a leadership role.
  • Licensed in the state of Minnesota as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Obtain 12 hours of training in co-occurring mental health problems training within six months of hire.
  • At least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances.
  • Must be comfortable working with people with life-controlling challenges, including mental health and addiction.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, staff, and leadership.
  • The ability to live and work by MnTC’s culture of honor & core values – practicing compassion, honor, respect, integrity, servanthood, and trust.
  • Ability to successfully complete MN Dept of Human Services background study.
  • Knowledge and understanding of implications of Minnesota Statutes.
  • Must be able to meet specific staff requirements outlined in Minnesota Statutes 245G.11. Reference: Sec. 245G.11 MN Statutes

Target Compensation (Negotiable based on qualifications):

$67,000-$75,000/year
