Job summary

arc After School and Experiential Education in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a part-time Program Leader to guide students through social-emotional learning, homework help, enrichment activities, and new adventures after school.

You'll greet kids, organize activities, supervise safety, and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment while collaborating with families and school staff. This role operates afternoons on weekdays at ICEF Vista Middle Charter Academy.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in diverse communities.
• Excellent communication with kids and parents.
• College transcripts showing 48+ credits or ability to pass proficiency exam.
• TB test and LiveScan background check.
• English-Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome kids to the program at the end of their school day.
• Organize and lead activities, including homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.
• Join indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.
• Create unique clubs and foster student engagement.
• Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols and supervising group dynamics.
• Oversee safety and well-being during after-school activities.

What a typical day for a Program Leader is like:

• Greet and welcome kids to the program at the end of their school day.


• Organize and lead activities, including homework help, recreation games, arts and crafts, and educational projects.


• Joinin indoor and outdoor enrichment activities.


• Create uniqueclubs for students. For example, we have a variety of clubs at our schools, includingcareer readiness, cooking, anime, and dance!


• Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols, monitoring student behavior, and managing groupdynamics.


• Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school activities.


• Encourageparticipation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to meet students' diverse needs and interests.

Qualifications

• Atleastoneyearof experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.


• To be a good communicator and be able to talk to both kids and parents comfortably.


• College transcripts thatshowyouhave48+ college credit units completed OR takeandpassan academic proficiency exam.


• Togeta TB test (andprovideproofthatit is negative) andpassaLiveScan background check.


• Ifyouare an English‑Spanish bilingual speaker, your resume will stand out!

IftheschoolyouwillbeworkingatrequiresaCovid‑19vaccination,thenyoumustprovidedocumentationthatshowsyouare fullyCovid‑19 vaccinated.

TheProgramLeader positionis part‑time,non‑exempt. ThispositionreportstotheSiteCoordinatorof theschoolsite.

• Monday to Friday (required)
