Job summary

Arc Experience in Wilmington, CA seeks a Part-Time Program Leader to guide after-school activities for diverse youth. You’ll supervise social-emotional learning, homework help, and enrichment clubs, creating a safe, engaging environment after school.

Responsibilities include welcoming students, organizing projects, leading indoor and outdoor activities, and adapting programs to meet varied interests while maintaining safety and positive energy throughout the afternoon.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities.
• Good communicator, able to talk to both kids and parents comfortably.
• College transcripts showing 48+ college credit units completed OR take and pass an academic proficiency exam.
• TB test (and provide proof that it is negative) and pass a Live Scan background check.
• English-Spanish bilingual speaker is a plus.
• Full Covid-19 vaccination documentation if required by the school.

• Create unique clubs for students. For example, we have a variety of clubs at our schools, including career readiness, cooking, anime, and dance!
• Maintain a secure environment by following safety protocols, monitoring student behavior, and managing group dynamics.
• Oversee the safety and well-being of students during after-school activities.
• Encourage participation and enthusiasm while adapting activities to meet students' diverse needs and interests.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday (required)
• Afternoon Shift: 2pm-6pm (one day of the week is a minimum day which is around 12pm-6pm depending on the school)

Ability to Commute/Relocate

• Reliable commute before starting work (required)
