About the Position

This position will support the Executive Director of Nexus234 Innovation District, Costello College and Center Leadership team in developing strategy and executing related initiatives, and managing team activities at the SciTech campus of George Mason University. The Program Lead will implement programs, projects, and events, execute day-to-day center operations, and manage special projects. The role also includes communications support (web, social media, newsletters, promotional materials) and stakeholder relationship management.

Responsibilities
Program Management
  • Develops and delivers a robust set of stakeholder pathways and student programs, including executive training, student and alumni entrepreneurship events, international soft landing, capstone engagement, and collaborative programming with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supports the CIE, Costello, and Nexus234 leadership teams in program design and delivery.
  • Manages day-to-day program operations including planning and implementation.
  • Represents CIE at programs and events in support of the leadership team.
  • Supports grant identification and submission in collaboration with the Executive Director and CIE leadership team.
  • Provides mentorship to graduate and undergraduate interns and supervises interns/student wage/non-student wage employees assigned to program projects.
  • Utilizes and allocates tasks to team members using CIE's project management system.
  • Supports leadership in developing program metrics and reporting on goals and objectives.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant activities in other business schools and centers.
Marketing and Communications
  • Assists in writing content to showcase programs and events for print, newsletters, website, and social media.
  • Creates and distributes program-relevant content through social media channels and coordinates with Costello Marketing & Communications and Nexus234 teams.
  • Supports leadership in creating and distributing promotional materials for prospective and current students with Costello Marketing & Communications and recruiting teams.
Administrative Support
  • Serves as primary contact for CIE operations at Nexus234 Innovation District.
  • Manages generic email accounts, calls, visitors, and inquiries with the operational team.
  • Prepares routine reports, correspondence, and other written materials for leadership teams.
  • Maintains records and supports communications and relationship engagement with stakeholders.
  • Assists with procurement transactions as needed.
  • Maintains accurate records of grant funds and supports grant reporting.
Events
  • Identifies speakers, events, and collaboration opportunities with external stakeholders across George Mason campuses.
  • Provides event planning and onsite support during and outside business hours in collaboration with the Events Coordinator.
  • Promotes relevant events to stakeholders with Marketing & Communications teams.
Special Projects
  • Manages and executes special projects assigned by leadership teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of related experience and education.

  • Master's degree in a related field.
