Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior waterfront project leader to drive large, complex programs from pursuit to delivery. You will define scope, timelines, budgets and success metrics, while aligning with business objectives and managing subconsultants and resources. Travel domestically and internationally may be required.

The role emphasizes mentoring staff, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System across multi-disciplinary waterfront projects.

Qualifications

  • 20+ years in engineering with at least 10 years in waterfront design and PM
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • PE registration preferred
  • Experience leading multidiscipline waterfront projects and business development with clients
  • Existing relationships with municipal/waterfront clients in the region
  • Proven ability to mentor/train others
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
  • TWIC eligibility
  • Pre-employment background check per NIST 800-171

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and leads project pursuits including positioning, teamwork, proposal writing, interviews and negotiations
  • Leads delivery of large, complex waterfront projects end-to-end with scope, timelines, budgets, and success metrics
  • Manages project financials, resources, and subconsultants with forecasting and budget tracking
  • Identifies and mitigates risks, reports status with executive communication
  • Builds and maintains relationships with clients and teaming partners
  • Mentors staff and grows the team
  • Collaborates with Water Practice and Waterfronts Group
  • Ensures adherence to Quality Management System

Job description

  • Prepares and leads projects pursuits / opportunities including positioning, team building, proposal writing, interviewing and contract negotiations
  • Leads the delivery of large, complex technical waterfront projects/programs end-to-end, defining scope, timelines, budgets, and success metrics while ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Manages and oversees project financials, resources, and subconsultants, including forecasting, budget tracking, and optimizing allocation to meet delivery goals
  • Identifies and mitigates risks, resolves issues, and provides clear, data-driven status reporting and executive-level communication on project health and milestones
  • Builds and maintains relationships with existing and new clients as well as teaming partners
  • Actively participates in initiatives to mentor existing staff and grow the team
  • Collaborates with various teams within Moffatt & Nichol including the Water Practice and the Waterfronts Group
  • Ensures project adherence to Moffatt & Nichol's Quality Management System
Requirements
  • 20+ years of experience in engineering field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in waterfront design and project management
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related
  • Professional Engineer registration (PE) preferred
  • Experience managing multidiscipline waterfront projects and developing business with clients
  • Existing relationships with municipal and waterfront clients in the region
  • Proven ability to mentor and train others
  • Willingness and availability to travel for projects (domestic and international) on occasion
  • Eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
