Job summary

BronxWorks Legal Services – Early Intervention Team seeks an experienced Program Director to lead, oversee operations and staff, and ensure high-quality legal representation for tenants. You will drive program development, supervise attorneys, and manage budgets in alignment with grants.

The ideal candidate has NY Bar admission, 5–7 years of practice, eviction experience, and a commitment to social justice in low‑income NYC communities.

Qualifications

• Admitted NYS attorney with 5–7 years of progressively responsible practice.
• Significant eviction litigation experience and knowledge of NYC housing law.
• Grant and budget management experience; ability to meet contract deliverables.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities; team development.
• Fluency in Spanish or another language is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of program development, operation, and quality for the Early Intervention Team.
• Directly supervise a supervising attorney and Intake Paralegal; provide training, coaching, mentoring, and evaluation.
• Ensure high standards of legal representation and client service; monitor caseload allocation.
• Develop practice guidance, templates, staff training, and ongoing professional development.
• Recruit, hire, and train personnel; manage budgets and grant requirements.
• Develop metrics, reports, and dashboards; submit grant reporting.
• Represent the program with funding agencies, provider networks, and coalitions.
• Collaborate with BronxWorks programs and external resources to address client needs.
