Job summary

Alpha School is seeking a Program Director to build a coaching-centric campus, guiding Guides to unlock student potential and develop critical life skills. This full-time, on-campus role focuses on coaching performance, behavior, and leadership for K-8 students, powered by AI-assisted learning.

You will lead life-skills workshops, coach teams, and use data to drive continuous improvement while maintaining high standards and a strong commitment to student growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, youth leadership, or related field.
• Directly managed one or more adult employees on an ongoing basis.
• Personally selected at least one candidate for hire into their team.
• Personally taken and put in writing at least one specific corrective action for underperformance.
• Personally proposed or approved the termination of at least one direct report for performance reasons.
• Sustained responsibility for learning, behavior, motivation, or growth of children ages 5-14 in educational/leadership settings.
• Track record of building or growing a program, team, or initiative from the ground up.
• Proven ability to use performance metrics and data to diagnose problems and drive results.
• Willingness to work in a school that rejects traditional pedagogy.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Build a coaching culture where Guides develop students who love school and master academics.
• Lead life skills workshops covering communication, focus, feedback, leadership, and resilience for K-8.
• Use student and Guide performance data to identify opportunities and drive improvements weekly.
• Lead motivation sessions helping students take ownership of ambitious goals and achieve them.
• Maintain your own student cohort and model coaching excellence and accountability.
