Job summary

Sga-Youth- in Chicago seeks an experienced program manager to lead multi-agency services and ensure contract compliance. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and strengthen community partnerships to improve outcomes.

The role requires strong data analytics, excellent communication, and the ability to develop and deliver staff trainings while pursuing new funding opportunities for expanded services.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred in public health administration or related field.
  • 5–7 years of extensive management experience overseeing multiple, complex programs.
  • Experience in mental health, case management, and large facilities/multi-site projects.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure program deliverables meet contract requirements and coordinate timely outcome reports.
  • Lead collaboration with multiple agencies and community partners to strengthen services.
  • Identify updates due to regulatory changes; train and communicate key messages to the team.
  • Supervise program staff and evaluate performance; coach and onboard as needed.
  • Maintain sound financial management of program budgets and departmental productivity.
  • Develop relationships with community organizations and government partners to pursue funding.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify funding sources and respond to proposals.
  • Oversee data needs, analyze outputs, and extract key insights for program needs.
  • Coordinate training seminars for staff and partners; promote best practices.

Job description

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensures all program deliverables meet per contract requirements and work closely with program staff to ensure timely outcome reports are being submitted.
  • Works closely with Program Coordinators/supervisors in overall performance of a multi-agency approach, including multiple partner agencies and community linkages.
  • Leads the identification of program updates required because of regulatory changes; responsible for documenting, training, and communicating key messages to the team.
  • Responsible for supervising program staff.
  • Ensures that all program services are of the highest quality.
  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates the performance of staff which includes coaching and program specific onboarding.
  • Maintains sound financial management of program budgets in assigned portfolios.
  • Manages departmental productivity standards.
  • Develop and enhance working relationships with community-based organizations, city, state, federal government agencies and partnered agencies as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with all levels of senior management in identifying additional funding sources and responding to requests for proposals.
  • Serves as a liaison between existing dedicated resources to promote shared learning and best practice identification and communication.
  • Understands data and articulates data needs required to assist with program needs; evaluates analytical outputs to test relevance and applicability and identify key insights.
  • Oversee the development and coordination of training seminars for staff and/or community partners.
  • If needed, develop, and implement an ongoing assessment/reassessment process for operational efficiencies, clients/families, coworkers, colleagues, and self.
  • Ensures all statutory and regulatory requirements are met, and all required licenses are up to date.
  • Ensure all department staff are trained regularly to meet compliance regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Competent in Microsoft Office tools and inputting services into an online database.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a strong work ethic.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, solid accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research, and resolution
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in writing, with staff and operational management.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Education:
  • Master's degree (preferred) in public health administration with a focus on maternal health, social services, early childhood, or related field.
Experience:
  • At least 5 to 7 years of extensive management experience, specifically overseeing multiple, complex programming.
Other:
  • Experience in mental health, case management, and development of large facilities and/or multi-site preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of wraparound and comprehensive services. Significant experience in organizational/administrative development, program management with a demonstrated track record of success. A clear understanding of the community(s) being served. Demonstrated track record of strong community engagement skills. Sensitivity to cultural diversity is required. Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse families, various professionals, and community groups. Has a thorough knowledge of community resources and services
Conditions of Employment
  • Ability to work varying hours Monday - Friday; schedule may include some evenings and weekends.
  • Office Software Proficiency: High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) or G Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
  • Ability to travel between various work sites in Metropolitan Chicago
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to remain stationary 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to frequently move inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends stairs.
  • At times, it may be required to lift up to 25 lbs. for various needs
  • Frequently moves in outdoor weather conditions.
