Job summary

University of North Texas in Denton seeks a Program Director for CVAD Galleries to provide strategic and creative leadership. You will oversee exhibitions, programming, collections, operations and partnerships that support the College’s educational and cultural mission.

You will develop and manage a dynamic exhibition program showcasing student, faculty, visiting, and professional artists, engaging the university and North Texas communities.

Department Summary
The Office of CVAD Galleries at UNT, which comprises three galleries, supports the educational mission of the College of Visual Arts and Design and the university, enriches the aesthetic environment and serves as a cultural resource for the public.
Position Overview
This position provides strategic and creative leadership for the UNT CVAD Galleries, overseeing exhibitions, programming, collections, operations, and partnerships that support the College’s educational and cultural mission. The position develops and manages a dynamic exhibition program that showcases student, faculty, visiting, and professional artists while engaging the university and broader North Texas communities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field and five years of closely related professional experience.

  • Extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
  • Extensive knowledge of Texas rules and regulations related to functional area (or ability to rapidly assimilate).
  • In depth knowledge of learning outcomes.
  • Requires knowledge of best practices in assessment as it pertains to higher education and institutional effectiveness including the creation of outcomes, assessment methods and instruments, as well as data analysis, and utilization of reporting results.
  • Ability to plan and conceptualize and make sound business decisions.
