Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a qualified candidate to join our cost control team in California. You will set up cost control systems, monitor schedules, and support audits for contracts requiring validated cost/schedule control systems.

The role requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance, experience with financial analysis or reporting, and strong MS Office skills. Earned Value Management experience is a plus in a defense environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience with financial analysis or reporting.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Clearance: Top Secret or SCI (active) at time of application.

Responsibilities

  • Set up cost control system, monitor and control costs on contracts with validated cost/schedule control systems.
  • Support audits and reviews requested by programs, customers, and management; provide fact-finding and negotiation support.
  • Perform analysis and prepare reports to ensure contracts stay within negotiated parameters and government cost control guidelines.
  • Perform Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks including WBS development, budget baseline, cost risk analysis, and visibility reports.

Your Role And Impact
  • Set up cost control system, monitor and control costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system
  • Support audits and reviews requested by programs, customers, and company management, fact-finding and negotiation support
  • Perform analysis and prepare reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines
  • Perform Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, budget baseline, cost risk analysis/ assessment and visibility reports, development and analysis of estimates to complete
  • Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications For Level 2
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Requires an active Top-Secret or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application
  • Experience with financial analysis or reporting
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
Basic Qualifications For Level 3
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • Requires an active Top-Secret or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application
  • Experience with financial analysis or reporting
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration
  • Defense industry experience
  • Military Leadership Experience
  • Program Cost Control experience
  • Experience with FAR/DFAR
  • Experience with Costpoint, Cobra, Solumina or SAP/MRP
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVMS)

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
