Job summary

Tucson Unified School District is seeking a program coordinator to oversee Student Placement & Enrollment activities and district enrollment operations. Required are an advanced degree and progressive program coordination experience, plus strong English communication and data skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required, or a Bachelor's degree with 4 years of related experience.
• Eight years of progressive experience administering or coordinating programs.
• Knowledge of federal and state legislative requirements related to the program.
• Experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Two years supervisory experience.
• English verbal and written communication skills.
• Some positions may require certification.

SUMMARY

Coordinates the activities and functions of designated programs. Analyzes, evaluates and ensures that the goals and objectives for the program are accomplished according to established priorities, time and funding limitations or other specifications.

Responsible for day-to-day administration of Student Placement & Enrollment, district enrollment, student placement processes, and school assignments. Coordinates student placements and streamlined enrollment at schools of choice. Collaborates with district departments, schools, and the community to provide responsive systems for enrollment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s Degree
  OR
• Bachelor’s DegreeAND Four(4) years of experience administering or coordinating programs
  OR
• Eight (8) yearsof progressive experience administering or coordinating programs
• Knowledge of federal and state legislative requirements related to specific program is required.
• Knowledge and ability to use word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
• Two (2) years Supervisory Experience
• Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
• Some positions within this classification may require some type of certification.

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

• FBI fingerprint background check.
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in a school district setting.
• Competence with database and web publishing programs.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) or some proficiency in Spanish.
• Experience working with diverse student populations in an educational or volunteer setting.
• Knowledge of Arizona Department of Education requirements for student membership and absences.

FTE : 1.0 -8 hours per day
Work Calendar:12 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.
