Job Description About Texas A&M AgriLife Texas A&M AgriLife is comprised of the following Texas A&M University System members: Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Texas A&M AgriLife Research College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University Texas A&M Forest Service Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory As the nation’s largest most comprehensive agriculture program, Texas A&M AgriLife brings together a college and four state agencies focused on agriculture and life sciences within The Texas A&M University System.

Position Information

We are seeking a Program Coordinator II, who under general supervision, works collaboratively with departmental leadership to implement academic programs and manage marketing and communication needs.

Responsibilities

• 65% Academic Program Coordination
  • Coordinate the department’s graduate programs
  • Support the Associate Department Head for Graduate Programs.
  • Assist with program assessments and program reviews.
  • Support the Graduate Program Committee
  • Assist with course scheduling.
  • Assist with student outreach recruitment for graduate programs.
  • Outreach events can be local or out of state.
  • Data collection and tracking for various program platforms and internal applications.
  • Schedule travel and assist with logistics for graduate seminars.
  • Host seminar speakers.
  • Assist with the logistics of the summer undergraduate research program and international field trip learning experiences.
  • Identify of funding opportunities and assist with data and preparation for training grants.
  • Assist with career and professional development for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Coordinate Nutrition’s Career Club.
  • Support graduate student needs.
• 30% Marketing and Communications: Science communications.
  • Assist with web design for department programs and research labs.
  • Social media support for department.
  • Oversee the design, content, and distribution of departmental communications.
  • Marketing and promotion of department programs.
  • Design branded items.
  • Assist with departmental events such as seminars, symposiums, and social gatherings.
• 5% Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience plus an additional four (4) years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a science-related field or science communication or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of related experience in academic program coordination and/or marketing and science communications.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
