Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a program manager to expand interdisciplinary environmental research by leading the Center for the Environment’s collaboration hub and accelerator functions.

You will design and run student and faculty facing programs, coordinate grant proposals, track engagement, monitor budgets, and prepare data reports for stakeholders.

  • Prepares reports and collects data to inform decisions of key stakeholders in the Center for the Environment.
  • Supervises student interns on specific projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The position engages a broad community of researchers and partners to expand the scope and scale of interdisciplinary environmental research at WashU, in order to address society’s deepest environmental challenges. This role does that by managing key programs of the Center for the Environment’s collaboration hub, and research accelerator functions.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with center staff and partners to design, plan and execute student and faculty facing programs and events that support the Center for the Environment’s collaboration hub, research accelerator, and signal booster functions. These programs include but are not limited to the center’s:
    • Summer Undergraduate Research Program.
    • Environmental Graduate Student Community.
    • Topical research collaboration and professional development workshops.
  • Provides project management services to multi-stakeholder teams on grant proposals and research projects.
  • Supports the center’s Scholar Program. Coordinates the recruitment of WashU researchers into the program and tracks their engagement in center activities.
  • Monitors budgets, identifies resource needs, and influences funding allocation necessary for implementing the programs that this position manages.
  • Prepares reports and collects data to inform decisions of key stakeholders in the Center for the Environment.
  • Supervises student interns on specific projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$49,700.00 - $82,100.00 / Annually The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
