Title: Youth Access to Opportunities Grant Program Coordinator

Reports To: Sr. Program Associate and Camp Connections Coordinator

Position Type: Part-time, Non-Exempt, temporary grant funded position.24 - 28 hours per week February – August 28 th , 2026.

CHILDREN’S SCHOLARSHIP FUND PHILADELPHIA OVERVIEW

Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP) is a privately funded nonprofit organization with a mission to provide students from under-resourced Philadelphia families with financial access to quality, safe, K-8th grade tuition-based schools, thereby increasing the long-term economic and social success of their children. CSFP grants need-based partial scholarships via a random lottery. With a nearly $18 million operating budget last year, CSFP raised and awarded $14 million in scholarship dollars from private donors (individuals, foundations, and companies). CSFP currently serves more than 6,800 children enrolled at over 150 private and parochial schools.

Since 2001, Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia has been changing lives by providing parents the opportunity to select a safe, quality school for their kids. CSFP offers scholarships to Philadelphia families in financial need so that their children can attend tuition-based schools that meet their educational needs.

THE POSITION

The Youth Access to Opportunities Grant (YAOG) Program Coordinator provides the administration for all tasks related to the program and reports to the Senior Program Associate and Camp Connections Coordinator. YAOG is a City Council pilot program administered by Children’s Scholarship Fund Philadelphia (CSFP). The grant funds scholarships that help working‑class Philadelphia families access high-quality out of school time (OST) programming that might otherwise be unaffordable. YAOG grants will cover a portion of tuition for quality summer programming.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasks include but are not limited to:

Youth Access to Opportunities Grant Coordination
  • Build and maintain summer program provider relationships with the goal of administering up to 1,000 out of school program scholarships to students in Philadelphia by August 2026
  • Create and oversee a system for processing lottery applications and enrolling students
  • Maintain tracking documents and data collection for reporting to grantor
  • Monitor budget and collaborate with the financial operations team to schedule and track payments to program partners
  • Collaborate with CSFP staff to conduct surveys of all participating families
  • Create and execute an evaluation plan to assess impact, outcomes, and make recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Senior Program Associate and the Director of Program Administration to plan for strategic growthDevelop detailed partner contact lists and standard operating procedures for all facets of the grant administration
Client Service
  • Interact with Philadelphia families, scholarship applicants, and OST program contacts in person, via phone, email, and chat while providing a high-level of customer service
  • Answer questions and provide program information in a respectful, professional, and timely manner with a customer service mindset
  • Complete all tasks necessary to administer the YOAG scholarship lottery and offer scholarship opportunities to families
  • Review, process, and enter scholarship applicant data into the database efficiently and accurately
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

While not one candidate will possess every quality outlined for this position, a successful candidate will bring many of the following professional qualifications and personal attributes:

  • One to three-plus years of professional experience, preferably in a non‑profit and/or customer service setting
  • Experience working with diverse and under resourced populations highly preferred
  • Strong value for excellent and professional customer service
  • Extremely organized with strong time management skills to accomplish goals and meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to analyze systems and strategically plan for improvement
  • Advanced skills utilizing Microsoft Office software (especially MS Excel), Google Suite and web-based tools
  • Ability to thrive in collaborative professional environment
  • Creative, self‑motivated, proactive, and confident
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Certain abilities to physically perform the duties and to work in the environmental conditions are required, such as:

  • Must be able to travel—valid driver’s license and/or access to transportation when necessary is required
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a computer
  • Must be able to maneuver in an office space, including reaching file cabinets, filing, faxing, scanning, copying, typing, mailing, and making phone calls
  • Must be able to support event setup and breakdown which includes lifting up to 35 pounds, bending, reaching, climbing, and standing
  • CSFP operates in a hybrid working environment, with one day per week required in the office on Tuesdays.
COMPENSATION

Hourly: $25 per hour

This is a part‑time, 24 to 28 hours per week position, generally 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for three full 8‑hour days per week and a half‑day if needed, dependent on business needs. While this role allows for some scheduling flexibility, work hours must align with the organization’s operational needs and may vary based on business demands. CSFP offers competitive compensation package that is commensurate with an individual’s experience and education.
