Job summary

HealthFitness in Neenah, WI is seeking a Program Coordinator to lead wellness and fitness programs, support facility operations and build a welcoming member environment.

This full-time role offers 40 hours weekly with varied shifts (early mornings through early evenings). You will plan events, coordinate program delivery, and assist with lifeguarding and fitness floor coverage while emphasizing safety and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Recreation, Kinesiology or related discipline; 1+ years related experience.
  • OSHA compliant Adult/First Aid/CPR/AED from recognized bodies.
  • NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification required or will be within 60 days of hire.
  • Group Exercise Instructor certification preferred; required within 90 days of hire.
  • Lifeguarding and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees programming within designated areas; develops, coordinates, manages, implements, and evaluates fitness programs to maximize participation and outcomes.
  • Coordinates marketing of programs to maximize outreach and engagement; creates electronic and print promotional materials.
  • Gathers program outcomes data and measures results; reports on effectiveness and recommends enhancements.
  • Performs duties such as instructing group exercise classes, lifeguarding, and fitness floor coverage as needed.
  • Supports budgeting, planning, and collaboration with client health strategies.

Manages program delivery process and teams, monitors quality and reports on program outcomes. May also participate in program delivery and perform other staff responsibilities such as instructing group exercise classes; attending facility events; assisting with lifeguarding and fitness floor coverage and facility oversight.Key Accountabilities* Oversees all programming within designated areas; develops, coordinates, manages, implements, and evaluates fitness programs within specified program areas to maximize participation, outcomes and customer satisfaction and supervision of programs, services, and staff. Ensures staff is properly trained and certified.* Facilitates the close alignment of programs with the client’s business needs, employee culture and corporate health strategies. Coordinates marketing of programs to maximize outreach and engagement; develops and distributes electronic and print promotional materials to communicate program offerings and special events.* Gathers program outcomes data and measures results; evaluates and reports on program effectiveness in meeting objectives and makes recommendations for future program enhancements or modifications.* Participates in business planning and budgeting process relating to program and service offerings in their area of expertise.* Provides individual and group exercise instruction as applicable; educates participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness.* Other duties as needed/assignedMinimum Requirements* Associate’s degree or higher in Exercise Science, Recreation, Kinesiology or related discipline and 1+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.* OSHA compliant Adult/First Aid/CPR/AED from American Red Cross, American Heart Association, National Safety Council, or American Safety & Health Institute.* NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification from an Industry recognized and HealthFitness approved agency required; if not current will be required within 60 days of hire.* Industry recognized Group Exercise Instructor certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA strongly preferred; will be required within 90 days of hire.* American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire.* Demonstrated experience in leading, coordinating and delivering effective programs including budgeting, marketing, and promotions.* Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.* Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.* Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel, and Outlook.* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity.Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. The compensation range for this role is $17.00 - $20.00 per hour. Additional commission opportunities for someone with an industry recognized and HealthFitness approved Personal Trainer certification. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
