Job summary

After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles is looking for a Program Coordinator to create and manage a safe and engaging after-school program environment. The coordinator will oversee daily programming, recruit and supervise staff, and maintain positive communication with school administrators and community partners.

The ideal candidate will be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma, and have supervisory experience in a youth-based organization. This position offers 20-23 hours per week at a pay rate of $15 per hour.

Job Description

Program Coordinator responsible for creating and managing a safe after‑school program environment, overseeing daily programming, recruiting and supervising staff, coordinating with school administration and community partners, and maintaining student participation and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and adequate program environment for students.
• Understand and comply with state and federal grant requirements.
• Oversee all aspects of day‑to‑day programming.
• Recruit and supervise capable program staff.
• Maintain positive communication with supervisors, ASAS headquarters, staff, school administrators, parents, and stakeholders.
• Plan the program throughout the year and collaborate with school initiatives.
• Maintain student participation (dosage) and attendance throughout the year through recruitment and retention activities.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older with a high school diploma (college education preferred).
• Experience in a supervisory role in after‑school, day camp, or youth‑based organization.
• Ability to collaborate with school district staff, parents, and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after‑school programs.
• Effective communication skills and ability to respond to critical incidents and emergencies.
• Excellent organizational and managerial skills.

Additional Information

Hours: 20-23 hours per week, roughly 1:30 pm–6:30 pm.

Pay Rate: $15 per hour.
