Purpose

The Program Coordinator supports the administration and day-to-day operations of the Ackerman Program, working closely with the Director of the Ackerman Program to coordinate programs, events, speakers, and other initiatives. The position serves as a key liaison with internal and external partners and manages the administrative and business processes necessary to support the successful execution of the Program’s activities.


Responsibilities


  • Support the Director of the Ackerman Program in the administration and coordination of program activities, initiatives, and priorities. Coordinate the execution of Ackerman Program events, lectures, conferences, and other public programming.

  • Coordinate day-to-day program operations, maintain project timelines, and track deliverables to ensure activities remain on schedule.

  • Serve as a liaison between the Ackerman Program and cross-campus partners. Collaborate with necessary stakeholders to facilitate program activities and shared initiatives.

  • Coordinate meetings, prepare materials, maintain program records, and provide administrative support for program initiatives.

  • Coordinate purchasing, contracts, travel, reimbursements, payments, and other business processes associated with program activities, maintaining appropriate documentation and working with SCL business staff to ensure timely processing.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for speakers and guests, coordinating invitations, schedules, travel, accommodations, communications, and other event logistics.

  • Partner with SCL Events, Communications, Finance, and other teams to coordinate event needs, materials, and promotion and ensure successful program delivery. Maintain event and participation records and coordinate post-event follow-up as appropriate.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in program coordination, administration, business operations, or a related area.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience planning and coordinating events, meetings, or programs involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to independently manage administrative processes and follow projects through completion.


Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.


Salary Range

$60,000+ depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility

Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Retirement Plan Eligibility

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
