Job summary

American Heart Association in the United States is seeking a Program Consultant for Health Care Quality Improvement to support Get With The Guidelines and hospital certifications across ME, NH, VT, and NY. Remote work is possible within these states, with travel requirements up to 20%.

The role focuses on engaging hospitals, consulting on quality initiatives, and building relationships with healthcare leaders to improve cardiovascular care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience.
• Experience in an acute care hospital working directly on clinical quality or process improvement projects, or a national cardiac or stroke clinical quality improvement program that incorporates data capture within a process improvement framework.
• Experience in hospital/healthcare systems for cardiovascular disease and stroke.
• Familiarity with Systems of Care work or understanding of EMS, Payers, CMS.
• Excellent in advanced PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, and delivering PowerPoint presentations to both large and small groups.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to travel up to 20% local and overnight stay.

Responsibilities

• Engage with clients at hospitals, healthcare systems, Departments of Health, and EMS organizations to implement and deliver the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines programs and hospital certifications.
• Provide decision support tools and best practice model sharing to support hospital teams in retention and success.
• Develop relationships with physician champions, stakeholders and decision makers in executive positions to foster program participation.
• Collaborate with state health departments and regional authorities to advance cardiovascular and stroke systems of care.
• Document activities in CRM tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and report progress to the Director of Health Care Quality.

Program Consultant, Health Care Quality Improvement

This position will predominantly cover ME, NH, VT, and NY. This position can be home-based within these states. Responsibilities

• Engage with clients at hospitals, healthcare systems, Departments of Health, and/or EMS organizations to implement and deliver the American Heart Association’s suite of quality Get With The Guidelines programs and hospital certifications. Quality consultation includes supporting active data collection, providing decision support tools, best practice model sharing, and supporting the development of a hospital team/infrastructure for retention and success


• Consult with appropriate hospital teams to identify and resolve compliance issues and facilitate program participation progress and optimization of program and product value and return on investment


• Develop relationships with physician champions, key stakeholders and decision makers/influencers in C-suite or executive positions as well as essential relationships with front-line leaders and data abstractors


• Collaborate with state departments of health, regional authorities and other partners to further cardiovascular and stroke systems of care


• Document activities in customer relationship management tools such as Microsoft Dynamics. Record and report on account interactions and execution of the supported initiative including tracking progress and reporting. Communicate regularly with Director of Health Care Quality to assure tasks are completed according to timeline. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure program success

Compensation & Benefits

Salary minimum to the midpoint of the range is $68,300.00 to $92,600.00. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials may apply to the pay range. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
