Program Associate (Academic Tutor)

Location: Dayspring Community Center, Yonkers, NY

Yonkers Partners In Education (YPIE) partners with students to ensure they are ready for, enroll in, and complete college.

Job Mission: YPIE is embarking on an exciting new opportunity to offer academic support, college readiness, and college access services on the campus of Dayspring Community Center in Yonkers. The Program Associate will provide the services listed in Responsibilities and Results.

Responsibilities & Results
  • Academic Tutoring
    • Provide academic support to ensure each student improves their academic skills in core subject areas.
    • Develop and support academic intervention plans to directly tutor students and foster self‑advocacy so students identify and seek school support structures.
  • Program Administration & Recruitment
    • Manage student records and program logistics, communicating with key stakeholders to ensure seamless events and effective program implementation.
    • Leverage data to recruit students each year, proactively collaborating with district and non‑profit partners to identify target students and deliver info sessions and presentations.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours as student needs arise.

Job Details

Position: Program Associate (Academic Tutor)

Work arrangement: In‑person across multiple program sites in Yonkers, NY.

Hours: Part‑Time (15‑20 hours/week, approx. 3‑5 days/week). Schedule can vary but must include 3 days a week from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.

Calendar: 10 months (September – June, with opportunities to work in July & August).

Hourly Rate: $30‑$40 per hour, depending on experience.
