Under the supervision of the Health Coordinator, performs specialized paraprofessional and administrative duties supporting the implementation, monitoring, and compliance of Head Start Health Services. Responsible for maintaining child health records, monitoring health requirements, tracking compliance data, coordinating screenings and referrals, supporting family engagement activities, and assisting with federal, state, and local health reporting requirements to ensure comprehensive health services are provided to enrolled children and families.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to speak a second language is desirable.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college/university; ortwo (2) years of experience in the field of data entry/computer records management or in a related data input work environment; must demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness and neatness; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
A valid California Driver’s License is required. Certification in Pediatric First Aid and CPR must be met within 90 days of employment. Must meet and maintain state law and county licensing requirements regarding employment in a child care center (fingerprints, immunizations, TB, and physical).

The employee works under various work settings ranging from in-classrooms setting at sites with children and teaching staff, large and small in person training events, and some typical office conditions. The noise and activity level varies from active to moderate activity.
