Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Part‑Time Program Analyst Associate for the Border Security Team. The role focuses on forecasting, budgeting and time/travel expenses with regular updates and stakeholder coordination.

Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, possess expert Excel skills and enjoy working with cross‑functional teams to ensure program objectives and compliance. Remote role, VA‑based, 15–20 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Must be located in VA.
  • High school diploma and 0 years of related experience; Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; 2 years of related experience preferred.
  • Must have expert level Excel skills: Conditional formatting, Pivot tables, Vlookups.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain program forecast by updating real-time projections and noting future updates.
  • Update forecast with actuals weekly, bi-weekly and monthly using various reports.
  • Meet with managers regularly to capture LOE changes and adjust forecasts.
  • Incorporate information from multiple procurement reports into the forecast.
  • Ensure forecast accuracy and proper allocations; update staffing changes.
  • Review timecard reports for errors and analyze allocation differences.
  • Interface with SAIC finance, accounting, contracts, subcontracts and procurement to resolve issues.
  • Participate in budgets and analyze funding profiles and variances.
  • Support travel review and approval processes and ensure policy adherence.
  • Prepare status reports and briefs for senior leadership.

Description

SAIC is currently seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Part‑Time Program Analyst Associate to join our Border Security Team and begin an exciting and challenging career. In this role you will accomplish program objectives by planning, supporting and implementing process and procedures to support the program, with a focus on time and travel expenses and billing. This group oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing programs and business pursuits.

This position is 100% remote, but must be located in Virginia. This role is 15-20 hours per week.

Assist Program Leadership with:

  • Maintenance of program forecast by making directed real‑time updates and taking note of anticipated future updates.
  • Updating the forecast with actuals on a weekly, bi‑weekly and monthly basis as needed using different reports to pull in information.
  • Meeting with managers on a regular basis to get updates on level‑of‑effort (LOE) changes and updating the forecast accordingly.
  • Incorporating information from multiple procurement reports into the forecast.
  • Ensuring the forecast is free of errors, typos and misallocations.
  • Updating the forecast with staffing changes such a new hires, separations, promotions, etc.
  • Tracking leave and the impact on the forecast.
  • Review timecard reports for errors, incorrect allocations, and analyze allocation differences from forecast.
  • Communicate with program team regarding timecard issues, reminders, updates, or other items of note.
  • Interface with program managers, SAIC’s finance, accounting, contracts, subcontracts, and procurement organizations to address operational issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Participate in the development of budgets for assigned tasks and perform financial analysis on funding profiles and program financial variances.
  • Support the travel review and approval process by ensuring it is followed by the program team and updates are made as necessary.
  • Review all travel approval requests for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to government, SAIC and program policy.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to processes and procedures; preparing and completing action plans; implementing productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards; resolving problems; completing audits, completing reconciliations; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meets financial objectives by forecasting task order costs, schedules; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Prepares briefs to senior leadership as required.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client‑satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Participates in the development of solutions to a variety of problems moderate in scope and complexity. Often refers to policies, procedures and practices for guidance.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Must be extremely detail oriented.
  • Must have a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Ability to receive assignments in the form of objectives and establishedgoals to meet outlined objectives.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Microsoft Access a plus.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have good time management skills.
  • Must be clearable: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
