Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) is seeking a Program Analyst to support the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Arlington, VA. The role requires an active DoD clearance, a STEM degree, and 5+ years of relevant experience.

You will coordinate meetings, track program progress, and help prepare briefings and reports to support technology concepts and acquisition decisions. Occasional travel up to 15% is possible.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or demonstrated technical acumen.
  • Active DoW Secret clearance.
  • 5+ years of direct program analyst experience, preferably in an R&D environment.
  • Experience in at least two of: budget management, acquisition document coordination, meeting organization, or developing briefings.
  • Knowledge of DoD standards and regulations.
  • Strong oral and written communication and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program support to DARPA and learn DARPA processes, procedures, and culture.
  • Coordinate periodic meetings for the Program Manager (monthly or bi-weekly).
  • Monitor and report programmatic progress to the Program Manager through daily communications and monthly reports.
  • Assist in drafting briefings, reports, and documents to support new and current program concepts and technologies.
  • This is a full-time on-site position in Arlington, VA with up to 15% travel.

The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

We have a near–term need for a Program Analyst to provide onsite support out of DARPA in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

The candidate will provide program support to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and will learn DARPA processes, procedures, and culture. Will coordinate periodic (monthly or bi-weekly) internal and external meetings for the Program Manager. Monitor and track the programmatic progress of various performers and keep the Program Manager abreast of progress through daily communications, monthly reports, and other reports as needed. Provide input to and coordinate development of draft briefings, reports, and various other documents to support the development and approval of new and current program concepts and technologies.

This is a full‑time on‑site position in Arlington, VA. Up to 15% travel may be required.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM); may substitute a non-technical degree with demonstrated technical acumen.
  • Active DoW Secret clearance.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in a program analyst or related role, preferably in a research and development (R&D) environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in at least two of the following: financial budget management, acquisition document coordination, meeting organization, or developing briefings.
  • Knowledge of DoW standards and regulations.
  • Self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills, with mature judgment and attention-to-detail.
  • Proficiency with software suites such as Microsoft 365, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to report fully onsite in Arlington, VA.

  • Experience working in or with DARPA.
Pay Range Information

Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Virginia, Pay Transparency Salary range: USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $150,000.00/Yr.
