Cooperative Association for Special Education in Illinois is seeking compassionate Substitute Paraprofessionals to support students with autism and diverse learning needs at Monarch Academy (CCSD 93). You will work alongside teachers, RBTs, and other staff to provide individualized assistance during the school day.
Ideal candidates are patient and team oriented; Illinois Paraprofessional Approval and ROE registration are prerequisites.

REPORTS TO: Principal or designee
Monarch Academy is seeking caring, flexible, and dependable Substitute Paraprofessionals to support students with autism and complex communication, behavioral, and learning needs in a highly collaborative educational environment. Substitute Paraprofessionals work alongside teachers, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), related service providers, and administrators to provide individualized support throughout the school day.
Ideal candidates are patient, team-oriented, and committed to creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment where every student can be successful. Experience working with students with disabilities or autism is preferred but not required. Holds Illinois Paraprofessional Approval; Must register with the DuPage Regional Office of Education; Must be 21 years or older.

Responsibilities may include assisting with instructional activities, supporting communication using visual supports and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, facilitating student independence, implementing behavior support strategies, and assisting with daily classroom routines. Supervise students and provide instructional assistance as directed to complement the educational program for students.
Assist students with disabilities with their feeding, health needs, mobility, personal hygiene needs, and monitoring self control.
Prepares classroom materials for instruction as presented by teacher.
Reinforces skills introduced by the teacher by working individually with student or small group of students.
Supervises/assists students during bus loading and unloading.
