Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley is seeking a Part-Time Program Aide/Bus Driver at the Bove Branch in Avondale, AZ. The role focuses on safely transporting youth to and from school and off-site events while supporting positive youth development.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, current CPR/First Aid, and a valid AZ driver’s license. You will join a team dedicated to safe, engaging programs for youth.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Must obtain/maintain CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s Certification within first 90 days.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Transport youth to/from school and off-site events safely.
• Travel between club sites and schools as needed for programming.
• Support positive youth development and enforce behavioral standards.
• Maintain vehicle safety and report maintenance needs promptly.

JOB SUMMARY

The Bus Driver is responsible for transporting youth to/from school and other off site events, as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalency certificate
• Must obtain/maintain a current CPR, First Aid, and Food Handler’s Certification (within first 90 days of employment)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS

• Working knowledge of federal and state laws and company policies and procedures
• Ability to participate in investigations
• Ability to support the physical property and assets of the Club
• Ability to manage small and large groups of youth in various settings
• Ability to implement effective individual behavior management
• Ability to maintain and cultivate excellent member/family and community relationships and possess excellent customer service skills
• Ability to interact effectively and communicate (in writing and orally) with a variety of youth, staff, volunteers, families, and community members.
• Ability to establish learning objectives for program and activities
• Knowledge of Youth Development service delivery
• Ability to articulate for giving, serve as an ambassador, engage in relationship building and promote philanthropy
• Ability to support the efficiency of Volunteers and future workforce needs to support volunteer program operations

WORKING CONDITIONS and DRIVING

• Travel between Boys & Girls Club site and schools and various field trip sites as well as in the community is required. Must meet the insurance standards of Boys & Girls Club of the Valley.
• Work is primarily performed in the Club and local community
