Job summary

LEARN Academy in Arizona is seeking a Program Aide to implement program components with procedural integrity and to support students with autism and related needs. You will promote functional independence by embedding opportunities to build language, daily living, social, cognitive, academic, and motor skills, using a personalized prompting hierarchy.

You’ll follow LEARN Academy – Arizona policies on evidence-based FACSS programming, and collaborate with teachers to ensure consistent

• Paying full attention to what others are saying and asking appropriate questions.

Responsibilities

• Implement program components with procedural integrity.
• Promote Functional Independence: embed opportunities to build language, daily living, social, cognition, academic, and motor skills.
• Use of the appropriate prompting hierarchy to reach functional independence.
• Follow LEARN Academy - Arizona policies regarding FACSS programming.
• Reinforcement schedules followed; data-informed adjustments as needed.
• Shared control: provide opportunities for student choice.
• Maintain classroom organization; minimize visual/auditory distractions.
• Use visual structure consistently as part of daily routines.

What You Have

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience working with children with emotional/behavioral challenges

Arizona “IVP” DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card is required. PCMA or Ukeru Certification a plus

What You’ll Be Doing

The Program Aide is responsible for implementation of program components with procedural integrity.

Promote Functional Independence: Opportunities are embedded and reinforced throughout the day for students to build Language, Daily Living, Social, Cognition, Academic, and Motor Skills. Use of the appropriate prompting hierarchy is delivered consistent with personalized need, always with the goal of reaching functional independence.

Follow LEARN Academy - Arizona policies and procedures regarding evidence-based practices for FACSS programming

Reinforcement schedules consistently and accurately followed. Rate is consistent with need based on analysis of data as supported through the BCBA. Preference assessments completed as needed to ensure the strength of the reinforcers available.

Shared control: Choice making is routinely available to students (including but not limited to reinforcer selection and/or activities).

Physical Organization of the classroom is maintained to promote clarity in activity intent. Visual/Auditory distractions are minimized

Task Organization: materials are maintained in an organized fashion; returned to bins/containers/locations for easy access.

Visual Structure: Embedded throughout the classroom and used daily with students consistent with individualized need.
