Job summary

Central Texas College is recruiting for a full-time teaching role for Spring 2027. Instruct five classes per 16-week semester across Fall and Spring, with online and on-campus delivery per approved syllabi. Responsibilities include curriculum development, advising students, and maintaining LMS-course delivery.

The position requires a Master’s Degree with alignment to taught subjects; Ph.D. preferred and prior college teaching experience is valued.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required with 18 graduate credits in the subject taught and coursework aligned with offered classes.
  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree is preferred and/or professional work experience in the field.
  • Three years of college-level teaching experience preferred.
  • Must be computer literate: email, downloading, and internet.
  • Knowledge of Blackboard or LMS and MS Office.
  • Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach through education, experience and skills.
  • Commitment to working with diverse and underprepared student populations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct classroom instruction at high efficiency and student interest.
  • Teach lectures and online courses per syllabi, including day/evening/weekend classes.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of online courses.
  • Meet all regularly scheduled classes on time and maintain office hours.
  • Utilize instructional technology and LMS for delivery and communication.
  • Advise departmental staff on needed supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain attendance, grades, and progress records per policies.
  • Keep current in field and pursue continuing education.
  • Participate in CTC committees and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Teach a full-time load of five classes per 16-week Fall and Spring semester. Assist in development and maintenance of curriculum. Counsel and advise students to assist them in obtaining their educational goals.

We are hiring for the Spring 2027 semester starting January.

Master’s Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required with a minimum requirements of eighteen graduate credits in the subject being taught, with coursework that aligns with classes offered by CTC. Prefer Ph.D. or equivalent degree and/or professional work experience in the field.

Prefer three years of teaching experience at college-level.

  • Must be computer literate: to include ability to handle e-mail, downloading, and internet.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Blackboard or other LMS and a good working knowledge of MS Office, or similar software.
  • Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach subject matter through education, experience, and skills.
  • Commitment to working with diverse and underprepared student populations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Teach lecture and online course(s) according to syllabi and textbooks, as approved by Central Campus to include daytime, evening, and weekend classes.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of online courses.
  • Meet all regularly scheduled classes on time and for the full class period and maintain required office hours.
  • Utilize instructional technology and the learning management system (LMS) for course delivery and communication.
  • Advise the departmental assistant of needed supplies, tools, equipment, printing, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in compliance with college policies; submit certification rolls require by the Central Texas College Registrar office by submission due date.
  • Keep current in field an maintain needed continuing education.
  • Participate in CTC committees and groups, and perform any other duties, as assigned by department chair.
