Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with clinical experience in small animal surgery.
• Experience in teaching and curriculum development for veterinary students.
• Experience with hands-on surgical labs and simulation.
• Ability to collaborate on educational research.

Responsibilities

• Participate in delivering pre-clinical small animal surgery simulation and live animal surgery experiences.
• Oversee and assist students during spays and neuters on local shelter animals.
• Develop and deliver curriculum content for UA-CVM hands-on Immersive Simulation, Team-Based Learning and Peer Instruction.
• Contribute to design, development, and delivery of pre-clinical small animal and/or equine/large animal clinical skills curriculum.
• Participate in developing and delivering sessions in other system courses and selectives.
• Provide office hours and meetings to assist students with learning.
• Engage in ongoing assessment and professional development to improve teaching skills.
• Collaborate with UA-CVM faculty on educational research and participate in governance and committees.
