Job summary

University of North Dakota (UND) invites applications for a part-time Professor of Practice in Educational Leadership, focusing on rural teaching and leadership, supporting the Rural MSTL cohort through district partnerships and coaching.

The role requires teaching, coaching, and service aligned with Educational Leadership, including online and in-person activities, with travel to North Dakota districts as feasible and a location preference in the Grand Forks area.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to teach, inspire, and mentor graduate students.
• Effective interpersonal skills and collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and K-12 partners.
• Competent in using technology and adopting new tools for course delivery and coaching.
• Willingness to be present on the UND campus for cohort events and travel to districts as feasible.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to two graduate courses per semester in online formats.
• Adapt course delivery to the realities of rural practitioners and dispersed participants.
• Design and facilitate synchronous cohort sessions to build a statewide network.
• Coach of record for Burgum cohort throughout the program.
• Provide academic advising, including program planning and progression monitoring.
• Develop rural professional projects guiding participants from design to presentation.
• Foster district partnerships and field learning opportunities with rural ND districts.
• Represent UND and the MSTL program at education conferences and district events.
• Support diversity, inclusion, and equity in education.
