Job description

The Department of Chemistry at Emory University invites applications for full-time, tenured faculty positions at the rank of Full Professor starting in the Fall 2027 semester. We seek faculty candidates with research interests that lie in translational biomedical sciences as part of the Game Changers Initiative at Emory University. Focus research areas for this search include but are not limited to the following topics: chemical biology and proteomics, biophysical chemistry, synthetic chemistry and drug discovery, and ML/AI for biomedical discovery. We seek candidates that have demonstrated the ability to establish and maintain a vibrant, externally funded independent research program having high national and international visibility. In addition, candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in the classroom and research laboratory. Successful candidates must hold a PhD in Chemistry or related discipline. Salary is competitive and commensurate with rank and experience.

The appointee will join a cohesive group of tenure- (26) and teaching-track (6) faculty in the Chemistry Department during an exciting period as we grow into new and renovated space in the Atwood Chemistry Center, refine our Chemistry Unbound undergraduate curriculum, and further enhance our strong record of fundamental discovery, translational impact, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
