Job summary

Aalto University Executive Education Oy is looking for a Tenured Professor in Experimental Quantum Physics to lead an independent research program focused on low temperatures. Job description

Tenured Professor in Experimental Quantum Physics

Position open to candidates holding a doctorate in physics or a closely related field with an outstanding track record and potential for further extending a productive scientific career. To be filled at either tenured Associate Professor or Full Professor level. Full-time and permanent.

Responsibilities
  • Lead an outstanding independent research program in experimental quantum physics at low temperatures.
  • Collaborate with the Ota Nanomaterial National infrastructure, including cleanroom facilities, Nanomicroscopy Centre and Low Temperature Laboratory.
  • Take responsibility for education in this field at Aalto University, including teaching undergraduate and graduate programmes, supervising PhD students, and contributing to curriculum development.
  • Participate in service to the University community and international collaboration.
  • Maintain high standards of research excellence and high quality teaching.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in physics or a closely related field.
  • Strong expertise in carrying out research and attracting research funding at the highest level.
  • Experience in education and researcher training in physics.
  • Skills to collaborate in an interdisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to be an effective teacher in undergraduate and graduate programmes of the School of Science.
  • Fluent in English; Finnish language skills not required.
