Job summary

Woodweb is seeking a Professional Wood Finisher or Supervisor to join our Georgia/North Carolina operations. The role offers hourly pay of $25.00–$35.00, with potential for higher compensation for supervisory background, along with strong benefits and relocation assistance.

• Sand and smooth the item in preparation for finishing.
• Select and apply finishing products such as urethane, polyesters, spray/wipe stains and water base.

Professional Wood Finisher or Supervisor

Salary: 25.00 - 35.00 an hour (Can go higher with supervisory background)

As a wood finisher, you will be required to examine the product, identify damaged areas, disassemble the basic parts, and sand/shape the wood. You will also be required to apply various finishing products to achieve the desired color and design.

To ensure success as a wood finisher, you should have advanced woodworking knowledge, great knowledge of finishing techniques, and a good eye for detail. A top-class wood finisher expertly matches control samples and can formulate chemicals for the entire project.

Wood Finisher Responsibilities:

• Meeting with the Plant Manager to discuss finishing and color requirements.
• Disassembling the furniture or part that needs to be flat sprayed.
• Inspecting the wood for imperfections and physical damage.
• Repairing broken parts, removing imperfections, and filling in cracks.
• Sanding and smoothing the item in preparation for finishing.
• Selecting and applying finishing products such as urethan, polyesters, spray/wipe stains and water base.

Wood Finisher Requirements:

• Knowledge of Trade chemicals-their uses, interactions, dangers, production techniques and disposal methods.
• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience as a Wood Finisher is mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail.
• In-depth knowledge of staining and finishing techniques.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Advanced design skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience with hand and power tools.
