Job summary

CPH, a multi-disciplinary engineering and architecture firm, invites a Professional Surveyor and Mapper to join our Jacksonville, FL team. The role demands leadership in survey projects from inception to completion, emphasizing scope, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.

You will guide field and office teams, keep abreast of technology, and ensure client satisfaction while maintaining project timelines and budgets. A Florida (and possibly Georgia) license is essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper in Florida (PSM/PLS) or additional Georgia license.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven history of project management with site development and surveys.
• Experience with MicroStation and GEOPAK, Civil 3D or equivalent transportation surveying PM experience.
• Subsurface Utility Engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Foster and grow client relationships while managing project scope, budget, schedule and QC from proposal to final deliverables.
• Oversee survey activities to meet performance goals and coordinate with project team members.
• Provide detailed instructions to survey support personnel and coordinate with field staff.
• Keep up with current technology and software changes used on projects.
• Perform field calculations and mapping as needed; compile and research projects prior to starting work.
• Analyze deeds and research materials for production of surveys and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Manage office personnel assigned to projects; coordinate with field crew supervisor to meet project needs.
• Prioritize projects and schedules for self and staff; coordinate QA/QC scheduling and monitor client satisfaction.

The Professional Surveyor delivers high-quality survey services while ensuring safety and technological advancement. Your expertise will foster strong client relationships and guide projects from inception to completion, emphasizing budget adherence, scheduling, and quality control.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Foster and grow client relationships; develop and monitor project scope, budgeting, scheduling, and quality control for survey projects from the proposal stage through final deliverables.
• Provide oversight of survey activities to ensure assignments meet performance goals
• Effectively coordinate and communicate with other project team members and provide detailed instructions to survey support personnel.
• Keeping up with current technology and changes to the programs being used.
• Performing calculations for field crews and mapping as needed.
• Compiling and researching projects as needed prior to starting work.
• Analyzing deeds and research materials for the production of the survey.
• Assuring that all projects stay on schedule and within budget, and discussing any issues/discrepancies with Supervisor if needed.
• Managing office personnel assigned to your projects.
• Coordinating with the field crew supervisor your project needs and working with field staff to assure the desired product from the field.
• Prioritizing projects and their schedules for yourself and staff.
• Coordinating QA/QC scheduling.
• Monitoring each project to ensure that client is satisfied with service and product and that all aspects of the scope have been performed fully and correctly.
• Reviewing timesheets of assigned staff on a daily basis for your assigned projects.
• Coordinating and assisting with project estimates as requested.

Requirements

• Licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) or (PLS) in the State of Florida and/or an additional license in Georgia is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Successful history of project management with, Site Development, and surveys.
• Experience with MicroStation and GEOPAK including Civil 3D or equivalent transportation surveying project management experience and familiarity with DOT Location & Surveys processes and standards.
• Subsurface Utility Engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
