Job summary

UPMC Jameson is seeking a full-time Professional Staff Nurse for the Emergency Department to deliver high-quality patient care and support life-changing medicine for the community.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains productive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, showing accountability and effective communication.

• Applies nursing process to plan and deliver holistic patient care and advocate for patient needs.
• Maintains documentation and communicates patient conditions to the care team for safe handoffs.
• Participates in unit quality and improvement activities, promoting patient satisfaction and safety.
• Demonstrates knowledge of ED-specific care and documentation for diverse cases.

This position is eligible for up to a generous $15,000 Sign-On Bonus with a 2-year commitment for experienced Registered Nurses with more than 1 year of experience!

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates accountability for professional development that improves the quality of professional practice and the quality of patient care. Actively participates in unit-based shared governance, goal setting and supports the change and transition process to improve quality of care and the practice environment. • Knowledge of specialized care and documentation skills appropriate to specific ED patients (e.g. thrombolytics, animal bites, MVAs, hunting accidents, chest pain, STEMI patients, and obstetrical patients, etc.).
