Job summary

Weatherford in Houston is seeking a Professional Service Engineer to deploy SCADA and production optimization software for Oil & Gas customers. You will install, upgrade, and configure systems, build dashboards, and provide custom integration using scripts and documentation.

The role requires troubleshooting hardware/software, understanding Weatherford products from a user perspective, and training users on system usage.

Responsibilities

  • Install, upgrade, and configure SCADA and production optimization systems.
  • Build screens, workflows, and reports to support operations.
  • Provide custom solutions and system integration using scripts and docs.
  • Troubleshoot product issues and coordinate with Development for fixes.
  • Understand Weatherford’s SCADA and Production Optimization products from a user perspective.
  • Troubleshoot SCADA hardware and radio communications issues.
  • Train users in system usage and administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain high quality standards across activities.
  • Assist field teams with software upgrades and configurations.
  • Ensure governance, security, compliance, and HSE adherence.
  • Pursue continual health, safety, and environmental improvements.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership and compliance with Weatherford policies.
  • Maintain quality focus across business areas and seek improvements.
  • Interact with customers to troubleshoot product issues.
  • Support third-party application rollouts as needed.

Job Summary

The Professional Service Engineer - Production & Automation Softwareis responsible for the deployment of software solutions to Oil and Gas customers.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Install, Upgrade, and configure SCADA andProduction Optimization Systems.

  • Build Screens, Workflows, and Reports to support customer operations and SCADA hardware.

  • Provide custom solutions,utilities and system integration using scripts along with procedural documentation and relevant reports.

  • Perform root-causeanalysisof problems reported by debuggingprogram/scripts, and if necessary, correct them or report them toDevelopment.

  • Gain a firm understanding of Weatherford’s SCADA and Production Optimization Products and how it works from the userperspective.

  • Able to troubleshoot issues related to SCADAhardware andradio communications

  • Train users in system usage and administration.

  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

  • Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.

  • Help field support/clients with upgrading and configuring software.

Skills & Education
  • SQL Server Management Experience.

  • Experience in deploying and debugging Enterprise software in Microsoft Environment

  • Excellent debugging /knowledge of: C#, SQL, Powershell

  • Experience withETL techniques and tools.

  • Experience in integrating applications.

  • Exposure to Open-Source Analytics.

  • Exposure to Software support.

  • Experience in similar role troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with hardware and software.

  • Microsoft Server OS knowledge

  • Knowledge of Windows programming environment.

  • Knowledge of Web Security,Authentication and Authorization.

  • Enhance or make custom changesin existing utilities, batch scheduling.

  • Windows OS administration and support.

  • Experience in Oil and Gas Industry – Production, Artificial Lift.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Experience in SCADA, protocols such as MODBUS, OPC, MQTT, etc.

  • Experience in RTUs, PLCs, communicationconfiguration and troubleshooting.
