Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Residential Driver in Fort Wayne, IN. You will operate a residential/recycling collection truck on assigned routes, loading waste and recyclables, and ensuring compliant, safe operation throughout daily duties.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and a valid CDL, with at least 1 year of driving experience or CDL school certification. You will perform inspections, maintain accurate records, and support safety initiatives on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria and demonstrate safe truck operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks (side-load and/or rear-load) on assigned routes.
• Load waste and recyclables into the vehicle; operate compaction equipment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required reports.
• Identify and tag prohibited waste items and remove them.
• Maintain route quality and safety compliance at all times.
• Coordinate and supervise helpers if assigned.
• Attend safety meetings and participate in branch operations.
