Job summary

NVA Pet Resorts in Atlanta is seeking an experienced Professional Pet Groomer to join our resort team. You’ll perform dog grooming, including breed-specific trims, with a focus on safety, quality, and client service.

You’ll consult with clients to understand grooming goals, recommend services and products, and monitor pets for health concerns. Maintain equipment and a clean, safe workspace while delivering exceptional care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional grooming experience required.
• Knowledge of breed standards, coat types and grooming techniques.
• Excellent scissoring and finishing skills.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional grooming services for dogs, including breed-specific trims.
• Conduct client consultations to understand grooming goals and expectations.
• Recommend services and products that support pet health and coat maintenance.
• Monitor pets for health concerns and communicate observations to team leaders and pet parents.
• Maintain grooming equipment and a clean, safe workspace.
• Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after each appointment.
• Follow all company policies and procedures including our safety and animal handling standards.
• Promote and engage in opportunities to grow sales to help achieve revenue targets and other salon metrics.
• Attend required team meetings and trainings.
• Other grooming/salon duties as assigned by site leader.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday
• Ability to safely handle pets of various sizes and temperaments
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
• Ability to work in an environment that includes pet hair, loud noises, water, cleaning products, and normal pet-related messes
