Our client in the local area is actively seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor. This individual will interface with field staff, managers, engineers, and support staff from all levels of the company to complete the work. The qualified candidate is a licensed land surveyor in the state of Florida.
Responsibilities:
- Procure necessary research for survey projects.
- Prepare calculations for field crews.
- Give specific direction and guidance to field crews.
- Prepare project budgets, proposals, and technical reports.
- Ability to represent projects at planning, client, and municipal meetings.
- Oversee field survey, including on-site management as needed.
- Provide professional coordination and expertise related to the work of field survey crews and office staff to support work requests.
- Review and certify completed survey work.
- Serve as head field expert.
- Schedule, plan, manage, and execute multiple survey projects. Coordinate surveying tasks with project managers from multiple disciplines (civil engineering and landscape architecture).
- Prepare, review, and modify boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, land subdivisions, and legal descriptions.
- Manage workload, staffing, and quality control for all survey efforts.
- Project management for survey projects.
- Overseeing preparation of all types of survey plans.
- Prepare weekly survey crew schedules.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets & deliverables.
- Read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Understand construction practices related to construction layout.
- Understand state and local regulations regarding surveying.
- Develop surveying fees and write proposals.
- Responsible for project schedules and completion of projects on deadline.
- Effectively communicate information to staff, clients, and principals.
- Thrive in and promote a culture of accountability and meeting expected deadlines.
Requirements:
- Current Professional Land Survey (PLS) or (PSM) License.
- Professional communication with clients.
- Flexibility to work in the office and field.
- Proficiency with relevant software programs; AutoCAD Civil 3D, Total Station, GPS.
- Minimum of Five (5) or more years progressive experience, with at least three years in a leadership role.
- Highly competent to accurately download, process and assess data.
- Motivated to provide high quality deliverables to clients.
- Able to juggle multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
