Job description

KSI Engineering, Inc. is looking for a Principal Land Surveyor who is interested in joining a multi-disciplinary team focused on serving relationship-based clients and internal business units across multiple states.

KSI is a privately-owned, sole-source service provider of engineering, fabrication, construction, and maintenance services to multiple industries including upstream oil and gas production, natural gas treating and transportation, refining, co-generation, heavy industrial, utilities, water treatment, and all types of pipelines. The Principle Land Surveyor will be focused on data collection, construction calculations, client coordination, staff scheduling and management, and project deliverables. Successful candidates will exhibit proven experience in construction layout, topographic mapping, boundary research/mapping, title surveying, legal descriptions/exhibits, sUAS based photogrammetry and remote sensing, laser scanning, and project management.

Outstanding candidates should possess strong communication & interpersonal skills and be superb problem solvers.

Minimum Experience, Education, and Capabilities:
  • 10+ years of survey industry experience preferred
  • Possesses a strong background in construction
  • PLS licensure required in TX, NM, CO, or ND
  • Experience as a member of multi-disciplinary firms offering land surveying, engineering, fabrication, construction, or related services preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the applicable states

  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Excellent analytical and time-management skills
  • Must be able to work in a team environment
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure
Working Conditions:

The work environment and working conditions described here are representative of those that are typical of the job and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).

Working Hours:

Normally, a full-time employee will work 40 hours per week, depending on the factors such as weather and schedules. Work schedules and hours may vary depending on specific client locations and projects. In general, applicable work schedules include modified 9/80, 4x10', and 5-8'. All labor laws in reference to rest breaks and meal periods will be followed.
