Position Overview

Off Leash K9 Training, LLC is seeking a dog trainer for its Missoula, MT location. The role offers a flexible schedule, driving to local appointments, and the ability to set one’s own schedule. Candidates must be able to board at least two dogs at home for 14 days at a time and travel to the main training facility in Fredericksburg, VA for a 17‑day certification course.

Minimum Qualifications

• Reside in or around the Missoula, MT area.
• Have reliable transportation and a smartphone.
• Experienced with social media (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, etc.).
• Complete the 17‑day certification at the OLK9 Training Facility (reimbursement after one year of employment).

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

• Handle and train dogs of all breeds and sizes, from puppies to adults.
• Provide behavior modification training for dogs with anxiety or aggression.
• Interact with the public professionally and maintain customer service standards.
• Drive to appointments within the local area.
• Pursue continuing education to enhance dog‑training and human‑communication skills.
• Self‑motivate and maintain a strong work ethic.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Strong work ethic, reliability, honesty, and passion for dogs. The candidate should possess computer skills to create dog‑training videos and be able to work during peak traffic periods on weekdays and weekends. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential.

Compensation

Pay is based on the number of boards and trains completed each month and hourly lessons taught. The right person can earn $50,000–70,000 per year (or more) with significant flexibility and fulfilment.
