Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Professional Development Specialist for a full-time day shift (Mon-Fri; 8:00a-4:30p). The role designs and evaluates educational activities for all levels of personnel across the network.

You will serve as an educational consultant for leadership and staff, support the Nurse Residency Program as Tales from the Bedside facilitator and EBP project facilitator, and develop learning programs with data-driven evaluation to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in nursing, education, or relevant field.
• 2 years of clinical experience and 1 year of education/training.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and adult learning principles.

Responsibilities

• Conducts centralized orientation programming for all levels of clinical personnel.
• Serves as an educational consultant for leadership and staff in program development, clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and professional development.
• Assists in Nurse Residency Program as Tales from the Bedside facilitator, EBP Project facilitator, NRP faculty, and accreditation writer.
• Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs; uses data to improve learning outcomes.
• Maintains accurate educational records per policies.

Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
