Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Professional Development Specialist for a full-time day shift (Mon-Fri; 8:00a-4:30p). The role designs and evaluates educational activities for all levels of personnel across the network.

You will serve as an educational consultant for leadership and staff, support the Nurse Residency Program as Tales from the Bedside facilitator and EBP project facilitator, and develop learning programs with data-driven evaluation to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in nursing, education, or relevant field.
  • 2 years of clinical experience and 1 year of education/training.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and adult learning principles.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts centralized orientation programming for all levels of clinical personnel.
  • Serves as an educational consultant for leadership and staff in program development, clinical practice, regulatory compliance, and professional development.
  • Assists in Nurse Residency Program as Tales from the Bedside facilitator, EBP Project facilitator, NRP faculty, and accreditation writer.
  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs; uses data to improve learning outcomes.
  • Maintains accurate educational records per policies.

These recognitions highlight LVHN's commitment to teamwork, compassion, and technology with an unrelenting focus on delivering the best healthcare possible every day.Whether you're considering your next career move or your first, you should consider Lehigh Valley Health Network. **Summary** Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates educational activities for all levels of personnel and participates in meeting the educational need for the network. **Job Duties*** Conducts centralized orientation programming for all levels of clinical personnel.* Serves as an educational consultant for leadership and staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, regulatory compliance, professional development, and other assigned committee work.* Assists in the development of newly licensed registered nurses' transition to practice by engaging in the Nurse Residency Program as a Tales from the Bedside facilitator, EBP Project facilitator, NRP faculty, and writer for accreditation..* Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates educational programs and utilizes methods, measurements, and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.* Utilizes learner evaluation data, stakeholder feedback, and peer input to improve learning outcomes.* Conducts and analyzes formal and informal learning needs with leadership and staff; develops and implements revisions as necessary.* Maintains accurate educational records in accordance with hospital and departmental policies. **Minimum Qualifications*** Master’s Degree in nursing, education, or relevant field.* 2 years of relevant clinical experience and* 1 year of education/training experiences.* Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)* Knowledge of adult learning principles* Ability to learn new knowledge quickly.* Ability to work with individuals from different disciplines and different levels of training.* Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environment.* American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire* RN - Licensed Registered Nurse\_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire **Preferred Qualifications*** 2 years of academic or staff development teaching experience.* ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year and* American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 1 Year **Physical Demands** Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
