Job summary

Think Small® is seeking a Professional Development Customer Experience Specialist to provide high-quality service and support for early childhood educators. You will assist with PD training coordination, logistics, and registration for online and in-person sessions, while delivering excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include Early Childhood Education, Child or Human Development, Family Life or Parent Education, Family Studies, Family Science, Human Services, or related area.
  • Associate’s degree with two years of related work experience; or current enrollment in Early Childhood coursework with three years of related work experience.
  • Experience in data entry, customer service, or administrative support.
  • Experience in nonprofit environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education and development; excellent communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries from childcare providers and early educators via phone, email, and in person.
  • Assist customers with the Develop website, including account setup, membership management, training searches, and registration support.
  • Enter confirmed training details and attendance into the Develop system accurately and promptly.
  • Staff evening and weekend training sessions, including participant sign-in and room setup.
  • Assist with preparation of training materials, participant records, and attendance tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate virtual and in-person learning opportunities.
  • Provide learner support before, during, and after training events, ensuring a positive customer experience.

Job description

Professional Development Customer Experience Specialistprovides high-qualitycustomerservice and supportfor early childhood educators.This positionassistswith professional development (PD) training coordination by supporting traininglogisticsand registration for online and in-person trainingwhile delivering excellent customer experiences.This rolealsosupportslearning management system (LMS) operations, content maintenance,anddata management. Customer Support andTraining CoordinationSupport

Learning ManagementSystemSupport
  • Support the LMS Administrator inmaintaininglearner records,training data, andcoursecontentand availabilitywithin the Learning Management System.
  • Assist LMS users with accountsetup andaccess, navigation,training searches, registration support,and basic troubleshooting while escalating technical issues as needed.
  • Provideaccuratereporting and learner documentation.
  • Monitor training enrollments, attendance, andcompletionrecords.
Marketing Support
  • Assistcustomers inpurchasingtraining bundles

Accountability and Operations
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data privacy and security standards.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and provide backup support to team members as needed.
  • Meet established departmental goals and job performance standards.
  • Ensure quality, safety, and accuracy in all tasks and communications.
  • Maintainproficiencyin required computer systems and programs.
  • Complete assigned projects and monthly reporting on schedule.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, reliability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Serve as a backup for colleagues andassistwith cross-functional duties as needed.

Requirements
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degreerequired; preferred fields include Early Childhood Education,Child orHuman Development,Family Lifeor ParentEducation,FamilyStudies, FamilyScience,Human Services,or a related area.

OR

  • Associate’s degree in one of the above fieldsand two yearsofworkexperience in therelatedfield;

OR

  • Current enrollment in Early Childhood coursework or CDA programandthree years ofworkexperiencein therelated field.
Experience:
  • Experience in data entry, customer service, or administrative supportpreferred.
  • Experience in a nonprofit environment preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of early childhood education and development (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, professional demeanor.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving,attention to detail,and data management skills.
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience withLearning ManagementSystems(preferred).
  • Ability tomaintainaccuracy and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment with frequent computer and phone use.
  • Regularly required to sitorstand for extended periods.
  • Frequent use of computers, keyboards, and telephones.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., moving materials, furniture for training setup).
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of insurancerequiredfor metro-area travel.
